What is an independent insurance agency?
An independent agency isn’t tied to one insurance company. Childers-Harris Insurance Agency is an independent insurance agency representing Nationwide and other carriers. We can compare options from many top carriers and help you choose the coverage that fits you best.
What types of insurance do you offer?
We write auto, home, renters, umbrella, boat and life insurance for individuals and families. For businesses, we offer general liability, workers’ compensation, commercial auto and business property coverage. We don’t offer Medicare plans.
What areas do you serve?
Our office is in Mint Hill, and we serve Charlotte, Mint Hill, Matthews, Indian Trail, Stallings, Concord, Midland and the surrounding area. We’re licensed in both North Carolina and South Carolina, so we can help clients anywhere in either state.
How do I get a quote?
For home, renters or auto, you can start a quote online at charlotteinsurancegroup.com/quote. It takes a few minutes. For business, umbrella, boat or life insurance, call or text us at 704-545-6700 and we’ll put it together for you.
Do I need to come into the office?
No. We can handle quotes, changes and questions by phone, text or email. You’re always welcome to stop by our office at 7130 Matthews Mint Hill Rd, Mint Hill, NC 28227, Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Can you look over the insurance I have now?
Yes. Bring or send us your current declarations pages, and we’ll go through them with you in plain English. We’ll point out any gaps and, if it makes sense, compare other carriers. There’s no cost and no pressure.
Can I bundle my home and auto insurance?
Often, yes. Many carriers offer a multi-policy discount when your home and auto are together, and having one agent for both makes changes and renewals simpler. Whether bundling saves you money depends on the carrier and your situation, so we’ll compare both ways and show you the options.
What does an umbrella policy do?
An umbrella policy adds extra liability coverage on top of your home and auto policies. If you’re responsible for a serious accident and the costs go past those limits, the umbrella can help pay the rest, up to its own limit. Most carriers require certain home and auto limits first, and we’ll explain what’s needed.
Does North Carolina require workers’ compensation for my business?
In North Carolina, most businesses with three or more employees must carry workers’ compensation insurance, and some businesses need it with fewer employees. Scott Harris leads our business clients and can help you figure out what applies to you and get it quoted.
How do I pay my bill or file a claim?
Visit our Client Center at charlotteinsurancegroup.com/client-center for your carrier’s billing and claims links. You can also call or text us at 704-545-6700, and we’ll help you through it.
